Horseback Riding
Lessons are offered year-round for beginner through advanced students. Our facilities include indoor and outdoor arenas & trails. We offer both English and Western lessons on our horses or you may bring your own horse. Showing is available to interested students. Our lessons are in a group setting with 4-6 students per lesson. Lessons are an hour in length and include grooming, tacking, and leading of the horse. Our teaching philosophy is based on respect for the horse and rider.
We support and encourage our students at every level, using principals founded on the love of horses and the joy they offer us. Lessons are offered as individual rides, or as weekly packages ranging from 1-3(+) rides a week. Students seeking to advance skills and knowledge may be eligible for our Horsemanship program.
Horsemanship Program
The Horsemanship Program (HP) is designed for ambitious riders seeking to expand their skills and have an interest in competition, horse care, and farm upkeep. Students participate in up to 3 group lessons a week; additional lessons may be added for an additional fee. Horsemanship Program riders are encouraged to become exceptional horsemen and women. The students may use our horses or their own horse. The program uses short-term and long-term goal setting coupled with self-reflection as tools for growth and success. Students participating more days a week have improved results not just from greater repetition but greater physical fitness. This program is appropriate for riders of all levels who are seeking to expand skill, learn about all aspects of horses and their care.
Participants of Horsemanship Program are offered reduced cost for off the farm experiences such as horse shows, trail rides, clinics, etc. Students have opportunity for learning experiences that includes general horse care, farm care and a variety of other experiences. This program is limited to 10 participants per month. All lessons are subject to our policy regarding payment, cancellation and rescheduling.
Animal Camp
Animal Camp is a unique farm day camp experience for kids ages 5-13. Since 2006 we have hosted an interactive, self-directed, technology free, experience for the children of our community. Kids enjoy and learn about the farm animals: horses, goats, bunnies, chickens, cows, dogs, and cats. Campers may participate in horseback riding daily (weather permitting) this is a morning activity. The afternoons are spent playing games, crafting, and cooling off in the Chagrin River, which is both shallow & located on the property. We feature Feed-em-Friday when kids are permitted to bring carrots to feed the animals. All activities are supervised by experienced counselors, many of whom are Animal Camp graduates!
Typical camper to counselor ratio is 4:1. Horseback riding helmets are available to borrow, sneakers or boots, water bottle, and lunch are required. We offer individual (Mon-Fri) sessions from 9-4:00 pick up by 4:30. Campers are welcome to participate in one, or multiple sessions. Animal Camp has a limit of approximately 30 campers per week. Please email Krista with any questions, requests or to schedule a tour.
